In 2007 through 2014, the Federal government had non-refundable tax credit available to parents with dependent children under the age of 18 that ordinarily lived with them. When you look at your 2015 personal tax return this year, you will notice that this credit has been eliminated and maybe your taxes are a bit higher than you anticipated. The good side to this news is that the government increased the child care expense deduction and introduced the Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB) available to parents with children ages 6 to 17. FOUNDATIONS LLP would like to remind you to double check to make sure you are receiving the UCCB for all your children ages 0-17 from the government.
